The Colombian Government has announced modifications to the rates for the mandatory technical and mechanical inspection for vehicles in circulation in the country.
This requirement is essential to guarantee the safety and good condition of vehicles that transit through Colombian territory. The Ministry of Transportation has established minimum and maximum prices for Automotive Diagnostic Centers (CDA) in accordance with Resolution 3318 of 2015, in force for this year.
The calculation of these new prices are based on the Tax Value Unit (UVT), considering the annual Consumer Price Index (CPI) which stands at 9.28%. Having Taking into account an estimate of 10% accumulated inflation, the new values for the service are determined as follows:

It is important to note that these prices may vary depending on the city of residence and other additional charges.
The adjustment in the rates of the technical-mechanical inspection is based on the guidelines established by Resolution 3318 of 2015 of the Ministry of Transportation, which defines the minimum and maximum cost limits applicable to Automotive Diagnostic Centers (CDA).
In addition to these changes, the national government has established new rates for Mandatory Traffic Accident Insurance (Soat) for the year 2024.
These rate adjustments are part of the measures implemented by the Government to guarantee road safety and compliance with technical requirements for vehicles circulating in the country.
