“If there were a federal election next Sunday, 26 percent of those entitled to vote would vote for the CDU/CSU, two percentage points less than in the previous month. The AfD is clearly gaining popularity and is now the second strongest political force in the country with 22 percent (+3),” writes Ipsos.
The Hamburg opinion research institute ignores the fact that the CDU and CSU are two different parties. Last week the CSU was at 5% and is threatening the traffic light government under the new election law to be thrown out of Parliament.
Like the Union, the SPD has lost two percentage points since June, according to Ipsos. The Greens can increase again slightly and come to 14 percent (+1). The FDP, on the other hand, is losing approval and is now at 7 percent (-1). The left comes only to 5 percent (-1).
