Agordo, work begins in the Valcozzena area: Luxottica will have more parking spaces

The intervention for the reorganization of parking lots and roads begins today. At the end of the intervention, the workers will no longer have to cross the road

AGORDO. Luxottica today begins the reorganization of the parking lots and roads in Valcozzena di Agordo. So, now, in February 2020, the realization of a project that had been agreed by Del Vecchio’s company and by the Agordo council, led by the mayor Chissalè. Then came Covid and the estimated timing (there was even talk of August 2020 to do the work) are skipped.

The goal was to be able to fix the road network in a hamlet that, during the day, is overloaded with traffic coming from all over the Agordino area, from the rest of the Belluno area and also from Primiero, with repercussions on the urban aspect and on that of the safety of workers and road users in general. At the moment, in fact, the Municipal road that runs in front of the main gate of the company transits between two parking areas of the same, making it necessary to cross the carriageway. Even the couriers currently stop on the left, forcing employees to be very careful when passing over the strips.

According to the project, the road will be moved towards the bank on the Cordevole. It will then make a 90 ° bend and connect to a roundabout that will divert traffic to the town of Valcozzena and to other commercial and artisanal activities in the direction of Giove. In this way, the road will enclose the parking lots within the premises of the establishment, avoiding the pedestrian crossing. The bus stop area will also be moved to the right in front of the gates.

When the work is completed, the parking spaces for employees will increase to 678, 250 more than the current ones. The project also included the creation of 107 new stalls even after the roundabout on the right before the bar towards Giove. Today the construction site will start from this first intervention. “About ten days ago”, explains Giulio Favretti, municipal councilor for public works, “we signed an agreement with Luxottica, necessary from the moment in which the company, which will bear all the costs of carrying out the works, will also operate on land municipal and state-owned. The first part will be the car park just after the crossroads leading to Valcozzena ».

The news of the start of the works was also given by the company to the employees at the same time as that of the restoration, again starting today, of the free shuttle bus service that had been suspended in recent months.
