In the last seconds, Algeria achieved a fatal draw against Burkina Faso 2-2 today, Saturday, at the Al Salam Stadium in Bouaké, for the second round of Group D in the Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mohamed Konate (45 + 3) and Bertrand Traoré (71 from a penalty kick) scored for Burkina Faso, and Baghdad Bounedjah (51 and 90 + 5) for Algeria.

Burkina Faso occupies the lead along with Angola with four points, while Algeria is in third place with two points, then Mauritania is at the bottom of the rankings with no score.

In the third round, Algeria will meet Mauritania on January 22 at the Al Salam Stadium, while Burkina Faso will play against Angola at the Charles Conan Bani Stadium in the city of Yamoussoukro.

As for the Tunisian national team, its mission was complicated after it tied with its Malian counterpart (1-1), in the match that brought them together today, also on the field of Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo, in the second round of Group Five.

The goal for the Malian national team was scored by Lassine Senayoko (10th minute), while the Tunisian national team’s goal was scored by Hamza Rafia (20th minute).

With this tie, the Malian national team topped the standings with four points, while Tunisia ranked third with one point.

The competition program for the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations finals continues tomorrow, Sunday, with a match in the fifth group between the teams of South Africa and Namibia, and two matches in the sixth group between the teams of Morocco and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the teams of Zambia and Tanzania.

It is noteworthy that the current edition of the African Cup of Nations witnesses the participation of 24 teams divided into six groups.

The teams that rank first and second in each group, in addition to the four best teams that rank third, will qualify for the knockout stage.
