The Office of the National Disaster Reduction Committee and the Emergency Management Department issued notices in advance to make arrangements for this year’s National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day. Various regions and relevant departments have organized a variety of disaster prevention and mitigation publicity and education activities.
Extensive mobilization and careful organization. In accordance with the deployment of the National Disaster Reduction Committee, the Central Organ Affairs Administration and the State Organ Affairs Administration organized the central and state organs and units to carry out disaster prevention and mitigation publicity and education activities. The Ministry of Education issued a notice to put forward requirements for the school’s disaster prevention, mitigation and relief work. The Ministry of Public Security issued a notice to the national public security system, requesting to coordinate the publicity and education activities for epidemic prevention and control, flood control and disaster relief, and disaster prevention and mitigation. There are various forms of publicity activities. The National Disaster Reduction Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management will make publicity wall charts and distribute them to relevant departments in various places. Fujian launched a series of animation videos, Sichuan, Guizhou and other places organized relevant experts to conduct online lectures and cloud classrooms, Jilin, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Guizhou and other places launched disaster prevention, mitigation and relief knowledge network quiz activities, Guangdong and Chongqing organized Disaster prevention and mitigation propaganda theme lighting up landmark building activities, production and release of a series of special videos.
Public participation is active and active. Shaanxi has opened science and technology museums, museums, fire protection experience centers, and disaster prevention and mitigation science education bases to the public, and organized special lectures. Hubei, Sichuan and other places have organized disaster prevention and mitigation publicity into campuses, enterprises, communities, rural areas, and families. Anhui launched the “Five Hundreds” publicity campaign. Five relevant units arranged 100 volunteers to go into 100 communities to carry out 100 disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge lectures, 100 skills training and 100 risk avoidance drills.
Disaster prevention and relief drills are efficient and practical. Heilongjiang organized evacuation drills, as well as drills on first aid for drowning, flood relief, and material allocation and distribution. Sichuan will hold a comprehensive practical exercise for coping with rainstorms, floods, earthquakes and geological disasters in 2022. Henan carried out flood control drills on the Yellow River and Huai River in Kaifeng and Xinyang respectively. The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps carried out an emergency drill on campus earthquake prevention and risk avoidance in Shihezi City, and organized more than 1,000 teachers and students to conduct drills such as emergency avoidance, evacuation and rescue and search and rescue, to cultivate students’ awareness of self-rescue and mutual rescue.
