“Chanel” or her real name Florence Kitcha and her family are subject to acts of harassment and antisocial behavior following the role she played in the Togolese web series “Ahoe”.
The information was reported on January 29, 2024 by the producers of the series who reminded “the public that the formidable character of Chanel in the series is a fiction”. “Through her talent and her acting skills, Florence magnificently interpreted this character which must be a source of pride for us Togolese to have such great talent in the audiovisual world. It is important to distinguish between character and person. Florence in everyday life is a loving and deeply kind person,” it was emphasized.
It is still deplorable that actors in series and films are sometimes threatened because of their character which has nothing to do with what they are in real life.
It should be noted that the Togolese penal code severely punishes acts of harassment. Actors risk fines and imprisonment.
