Six couples want to say “yes” to each other today, April 24, 2024. “There are usually only so many weddings on Saturdays in the high season.” The reasons for getting married on days with a special date vary from couple to couple: “Some see it as a good sign for the marriage, others just think it’s nice – and some just find it easier to remember,” says Lötsch with a smile.
However, there is no unusually high volume at the Steyr registry office: three out of five possible weddings are taking place there today, with reports of a “very popular year for getting married”. There is also a lot going on at the Linz registry office this year. But not today: Despite the “magical” date, no wedding couples have registered.
