The Governor of Casanare César Augusto Ortiz Zorro officially handed over the new sub-headquarters of the municipality of Monterrey to the director of SENA Regional, Johana Astrid Medina Peña.
The new facilities will focus on programs related to Agricultural Production, Agricultural Mechanization, Tourist Guidance, among others. This approach consolidates SENA’s commitment to the development of the countryside through the CampeSENA strategy.
“The provision is already secured through Tax Works with Ecopetrol, we already have an action plan. Starting in the month of April, the equipment begins to arrive. We have already had technical visits for this adaptation that will last until the month of July; and we hope that starting in the second semester we can put it at the service of the community,” said Johana Astrid Medina Peña, regional director during the delivery ceremony, adding that “this collaboration guarantees that the educational spaces are adequately equipped to provide quality training to all the apprentices.”
The main objective of the new infrastructure is to benefit the communities in the south of the department, including the municipalities of Villanueva, Sabanalarga, Monterrey and Tauramena. It is expected that around 5,000 new apprentices will be able to access these new training opportunities.
For Governor César Augusto Ortiz Zorro “this is a special day, where young people should celebrate because opportunities are opening up for the youth of Monterrey and the south of Casanare (…) the department has everything to be an agro-industrial power and that is why I celebrate who have chosen these training programs for this sub-headquarters. We have to prepare our young people so that they can be the protagonists of the transformation that Casanare needs”
The event was attended by the mayor of Monterrey, Alejandro Ballesteros, and the active participation of the local community, highlighting the positive impact that this initiative will have on the municipality and its surroundings.
The importance of inter-institutional alliances in education is highlighted as a fundamental pillar for the development and strengthening of the educational system in the region.
