The Deputy Minister of Transportation, Nelson Reyes, pointed out that, as a result of the deployment of vehicle controls, there has been a significant increase in the number of people arrested for dangerous driving.
“We are constantly launching awareness campaigns and better supervise all the people who are reckless when driving a vehicle. An example of this is the anti-doping controls, which have had good results. To date, if we compare it with 2023, we have an increase of more than 100% in the number of tests that have been carried out, that is, we have doubled,” said the official.
According to the vice minister, this increase in the number of anti-doping tests carried out also translates into a significant increase in arrests for dangerous driving.
“We have an increase of 38% in the number of people arrested for dangerous driving. In 2023, on this date we had 313 detained drivers and so far in 2024 we have more than 432 detained drivers,” said Vice Minister Reyes.
In addition, the official called on the population to avoid any type of behavior that could put their life at risk while driving, maintaining respect for road regulations.
