A serious accident occurred on Thursday at Leonberg-Ost after an evasive maneuver. The autobahn in the direction of Karlsruhe is closed for a long time at the Leonberger Dreieck.

There was a longer traffic jam on Thursday afternoon at the level of the transition from the A 8 to the A 81 at Leonberg– came east. A driver wanted to change his car from the middle to the left lane. He obviously overlooked another car. To avoid a collision, this driver pulled to the left and crashed into the concrete barrier. The car rolled sideways.
The A8 in the direction of Karlsruhe had to be completely closed and could only be released again around 3:30 p.m. The Ford that crashed into the concrete wall was no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. According to the police, a rescue helicopter was also in use.
