The Attorney General’s Office, in its strategy of prioritizing crimes that attack women, children and adolescents, in recent days managed to have three men in Arauca sent to prison as alleged sexual abusers of minors.
On February 8, a man who allegedly abused a 10-year-old minor belonging to an indigenous reservation was captured in the rural area of Fortul on June 23, 2023.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crimes of aggravated abusive sexual access with a minor under 14 years of age and aggravated abusive sexual acts with a minor under 14 years of age.
On the other hand, a minor under 12 years of age, Apparently he was a victim of sexual abuse by his stepfather, in events that occurred between June 2022 and June 2023 in the Araucanian capital, when the man was left in his care.
His capture took place on February 7 and in the preliminary hearings he did not accept his responsibility for the crime of aggravated abusive carnal access with a minor under 14 years of age, charged by the Prosecutor’s Office.
Likewise, on February 5, a man was arrested who allegedly approached and took a minor to a wooded area where he allegedly carried out all types of sexual abuse on her.
The joint work of the Police and the National Army made it possible to identify the subject and capture him when he was apparently trying to leave the department in a public service vehicle.
For these facts, the Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crime of aggravated abusive sexual intercourse with a minor under 14 years of age.
