Seventy projects from all over Italy, of which 22 from Campania and 24 carried out in collaboration with other partners. These are the numbers of the 15th edition of the Best Practices Award for Innovation which this year is back in “presence” after the online edition, due to Covid, last year. Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 June, at the Stazione Marittima, the final event, during which companies, start-ups and spin offs will have the opportunity to present their projects to a jury made up of experts, entrepreneurs, policy markers, investors, academics and representatives of the innovation ecosystem of the Award.
Three sections of the competition: 4.0 enabling technologies applied to the tourism / cultural heritage sector and supply chain; Digitization – process innovations; Agrotech – sector innovations. The three winners will also receive a total prize worth 15 thousand euros.
The 2021 edition was presented yesterday by Antonio Ferraioli, president of Confindustria Salerno, Giuseppe Gallo, vice president of the Chamber of Commerce e Francesco Serravalle, president of the Innovative and Technological Services Group of Confindustria Salerno and coordinator of the award. Some partners were also present, including Banca di Credito Popolare, Banca Sella, Tim, Unicredit, Banca Campania Centro, Isolkappa, Enea and Sider Pagani. «Thanks to the NRP – underlined Ferraioli – the prospects for change and innovation seem to be within reach to trigger a development that is sustainable and lasting. This Award, for years, has been making its small and big contribution to spreading the culture of innovation and sustainability, placing Salerno at the center of the debate on the issues most dear to companies ».
The post-pandemic economy therefore restarts from new challenges. This is the concept that Serravalle highlighted, pointing out how we must give space «to ideas capable of generating a positive impact on social well-being, on the environment, on the competitiveness of our businesses». «For this reason – he added – we have chosen three sectors that, for different reasons, need new business models that are sustainable in the long term: digitization, 4.0 technological innovations applied to the tourism and cultural heritage supply chain and those in the agrotech sector. The presence of projects carried out in collaboration with other partners is also significant, with the aim of encouraging the exchange of knowledge between companies, spin-offs and start-ups ».
A project that has also found the support of the Chamber of Commerce: «For some time – says Gallo – we have been supporting and collaborating on this project which brings companies and start-ups from all over Italy to Salerno. It is a way to raise awareness of the value of our business system while doing territorial marketing. It is a well-established best practice that benefits the entire Salerno economic system ».
