The Seventh Brigade of the National Army announced that in the last few hours a professional soldier was kidnapped in Toribío, Cauca.
The soldier was identified as Guiner Kevim Noscue Largo, belonging to the Field Artillery Battalion No. 4, which was held irregularly by an illegal armed group.
According to the information provided by the institution, the National Army soldier was kidnapped in Toribío, while he was enjoying his period of rest. That is, at the time he was detained he was not on duty.
Likewise, through a statement issued by the Seventh Brigade, it was established that those responsible for this event would be members of the FARC dissidents that have interference in that jurisdiction.
“He was kidnapped, apparently by the organized armed group Farc – EMC in the department of Cauca, while he was enjoying his operational rest cycle in the municipality of Toribío,” they reported through the document.

The events became known yesterday afternoon, Friday, April 26, 2024. According to the information revealed by the National Army, relatives of the victim claim that they received a phone call in which they were alerted of the illegal retention.
A brother of the professional soldier was the one who received the information. According to what he revealed to the institution, a man who identified himself as a member of the FARC dissidents called him to warn him that his relative was being held.

“The incident is reported by a family member of the soldier, who states that he received a call from an unknown person, identified as a member of the FARC – EMC. “Warning him that his brother was kidnapped,” they said from the National Army.
According to the information provided by the military’s relatives. The events occurred during the last rest period that the institution had granted to Guiner Kevim Noscue Largo.
“According to the soldier’s family, the events occurred during a trip carried out by soldier Noscue Largo Guiner. From Toribío to the Tacueyó sector, where he was intercepted by illegals who deprived him of his freedom,” they indicated in the Army statement.
It is unknown if the criminals made any financial demands on Noscue Largo’s relatives for his release. The National Army rejected these types of acts that attack those who serve the country. And they assured that it is an act that will be reported to the corresponding authorities.
“The National Army categorically rejects and holds the FARC-EMC responsible for the life of our soldier. And he emphasizes that this action is a flagrant violation of human rights and an infringement of international humanitarian law. Complaints will be filed with the competent judicial authorities,” they indicated from the Seventh Brigade.
Likewise, they reported that in addition to expressing solidarity with the family and relatives of the soldier kidnapped by this unfortunate event. They are already providing permanent psychosocial support to their relatives through an interdisciplinary team from the Family Center.
