Beware: The cycle of Success is similar to the Cycle of Failure. The difference lies in the way of thinking

While Guillermo was speaking, the graphs that he and I had seen in the video of the talk he alluded to came to mind.

But Guillermo’s words brought me out of my musings, and I focused again on his narrative.

—Beliefs are dynamic, and therefore we can change them. The ideal is to convert a negative belief and make it positive, and avoid the opposite. Even though it may seem illogical, a positive belief is not perennial and can become negative over time. For example, a woman who states: “Men are bad,” given that she was raped as a child. This belief keeps her away from men, since she justified her belief with the news of rape that she saw on television, heard on the radio, read in the newspapers or from family and friends. That knowledge of her led her to take an action: stay away from men; repetitive action that she became a habit. At first this was very useful to her, because she was successful in not being violated again by a man, and this success consolidated her belief. But as time went by, what she considered a success became a failure for her life, avoiding a relationship. Now, at the age of 50, she is a bitter, aging, single woman. —

And by way of closing, Guillermo says to conclude: —Negative beliefs limit us, which is why some call them Limiting Beliefs, that is, they prevent us from achieving what we want; while positive beliefs help us expand, help us grow and transcend, that is, they allow us to achieve defined goals, which is why they are also known as Expansive Beliefs. Therefore, if you want to convert a life of failures into a life of successes, it is necessary to modify limiting beliefs with expansive beliefs, given that a person’s actions and behaviors are determined by their beliefs, by what they believe to be true and desirable. Marilyn Ferguson captured the relationships between beliefs, thought patterns, actions and final results in this stanza: “If you believe what you have always believed; then you will always think what you have always thought; and will always act as it has always acted; and you will always get what you have always gotten.” —

The above text is a fragment taken from the fourth (unpublished) version of my book Wake up that somethingsince I have been improving the writing so that the reading is more explanatory, enjoyable and concrete for the reader.

Now, to understand the context of the shared extract, below is the fragment from my book Wake up that something that precedes the text with which I begin this writing: “With impetus, Guillermo exclaims: —Being successful, that is, being successful and happy or, in other words, progressively achieving the goals set and living in harmony with oneself and with others, lies in the power of belief. For motivator Carlos Marín, belief is the beginning of a cycle that can lead to success or failure, depending on whether the belief is positive or negative, respectively. It is worth clarifying that success is intentional, that is, we must make things happen to achieve what we want; while failure is the product of the man or woman’s inability to achieve what they want. —

And with a certain pedagogy Guillermo continues explaining: —Let’s review how this cycle operates: first, Belief; second, knowledge; third, action; fourth, habit; and fifth, success or failure, thus strengthening the belief. Depending on how we think, that is, depending on our belief, we look for information, knowledge, to justify it; knowledge that will lead us to take action or not to act, inaction being a form of action. Acting in a certain way repetitively becomes a habit; and habits lead us to success or failure, which lead us to close the cycle, reinforcing the initial belief. —.

Those who have read the last five writings of my column in this digital newspaper: The Strength of Belief, Knowledge + Opportunity = Good Luck, I Will Do It, Habit Makes the Monk y Success: New theories with the same Formulayou will be able to see that it is intended to lead the reader to understand, in an explanatory way for each step, the stages that structure this cycle, which can lead us to success or failure.

I have consistently preached that “learning to think is learning to live“, since the dominant thoughts in our mind are underlying to achieve success or not. In the first case, success elevates us through an upward spiral, which, as Stephen Covey explains, involves learning (or relearning), committing and acting throughout life. That is why Covey calls it the Maturity Continuum.

Failure to achieve what we long for is typified by failure, which also sinks the person through a downward spiral, which leads to involution as a result of persisting in maintaining limiting beliefs, relying on outdated knowledge, executing incorrect actions and ingrain habits of ineffectiveness.

Jorge Isaza Suárez and Jesus Martinez Zuñiga, in their book The optimal development of intelligence and ability. What is the true potential of the human being?explain, as can be seen in graph 2, that: “An optimal person always strives for maximum evolution, with an awareness of prosperity. […] From a good thought a good feeling is generated and from these a good word and, in turn, a good action. The four elements release or enhance each other. They complement each other.”

The great secret to being successful in life and being happy is learning to think, because as I shared in my writing Spiritual Transfusion, highlighting what doctors Fox argue: “A spiritual transfusion is one of the simplest and most effective remedies against the plague of negative thinking that now afflicts humanity..”

We cannot blame other people, nor become victims of circumstances, it is a personal duty to renew our thoughts so as not to fall to the minimum level of survival that causes death (see graph 3). As Isaza and Martínez warn: “The optimal human being has three fundamental forces that complement each other and that, used in coordination, balance the relationships and events of life. Analytical capacity, emotion and vital energy or physical force, make up, as in music, a harmony that, instead of sound, in this case promotes an amount of behavior consistent with that of a rational and sensitive being..”

The object of all life is development and every living thing has the inalienable right to all the development it is capable of achieving. The right of a person to life means his right to have the free and unlimited use of all things that are necessary for his full mental, spiritual and physical development..” This call that Wallace D. Wattles makes in his book is very important. The Science of Getting Rich and invites you to think and act in the right way. Therefore, let us not hold others responsible for our failures or our current limitations, we are the creators of our own reality. Let’s think and act in the right way, because in this way we will contribute to the construction of a better world.
