Cookie baker Lotus Bakeries and shipping company Euronav are entering the Bel20 stock exchange index. Telecom operator Proximus and Aperam, producer of stainless steel, disappear from the star index. Stock exchange operator Euronext reported this on Wednesday following the annual review of the composition of the share basket.

The changes will take effect after the closing bell on Friday, March 15. Monday, March 18 is the first trading day with the new composition of the Bel20.

There are also other changes: for example, imaging specialist Agfa-Gevaert will disappear from the ‘Bel Mid’, the basket of medium-sized stock exchange companies to which Proximus and Aperam are moving. Agfa ends up in the ‘Bel Small’.

And the Belgian ESG sustainability index, launched last year, is also undergoing changes. Insurance group Ageas and image server company EVS are included in the share basket of this index, while bpost and Proximus disappear from it.

Bel 20 is the acronym of the main stock index on the Brussels stock exchange in Belgium. This includes the 20 companies listed on Euronext Brussels with the highest free float market capitalization, or shares actually in circulation.
