Human remains have been found in the garden of a home in Pantin, a suburb of Paris. They were found as part of an investigation into a mysterious murder of a child twenty years ago. The residents of the building were arrested.

The ball started rolling when, in early 2021, in the context of a domestic violence case, a woman accused her husband of murdering her 5-year-old son in 2004, whom she had brought with her from Togo. A preliminary investigation was opened, but the boy’s existence could not be confirmed at the time.
Now an investigating judge from Bobigny has arrested the couple – a man who is now 65 years old and a woman who is 54 years old. They are accused of murdering a minor under the age of 15.
The investigators were able to determine the location where the child was buried based on statements from the father. This week the human remains were found in the garden where the family still lives. It concerns the remains of a victim “between 5 and 10 years old”, according to a police source. Further research will have to show whether it is indeed the son. There is also still uncertainty about the cause of death.
