“I am convinced that we were right to support the Ukrainian resistance, because otherwise that democratic and sovereign people would be wiped out by those who bombed without any justification. After that, Europe is doing too little to seek a diplomatic path that leads to peace , right certainly, but peace as soon as possible. We want to bring our values of freedom, peace and democracy.”
This was stated by the president of Emilia Romagna and candidate for the European elections in the Democratic Party, Stefano Bonaccini, on the sidelines of an electoral meeting in Trieste.
“We are convinced pro-Europeans – he specified – unlike the right” also represented by the League “which puts ‘more Italy and less Europe’ in its slogans”. “We feel a strong right-wing wind in Europe and the West”, “we need to get busy”.
“This time two ideas of Europe are competing – he added – that of a right, also represented by Meloni and Salvini, who are in alliances in Europe that are against those who are governing it: for 30 years they have tried to demolish this Europe, I didn’t go around wearing ‘No euro’ t-shirts.” And then the other idea of Europe: “I want to bring the best of our businesses and our welfare; the values of peace and democracy that try to make a united Europe stronger”.
