Carnival on ice in Belluno: all masked on the rink in Piazza Duomo

From Thursday 24 February to Shrove Tuesday, a party on the track and a parade of masks for the little ones

Belluno. “Carnival on ice” in the city: the skating rink in Piazza Duomo will be the theater of masks for the Belluno carnival 2022. Four days will see skaters in costume as protagonists: Shrove Thursday (February 24), Saturday 26, Sunday 27 and Tuesday March 1, Shrove Tuesday.

The traditional “mask competition” will also take place on the ice: from 14.30 to 16.30 on Tuesday 1 March, in fact, there will be a parade for the little ones, with the awarding of the most beautiful mask voted by the public.

“The novelty of this year will be the social competition”, announces the councilor for events Yuki d’Emilia. “Those who come to skate in costume in these four days will be able to publish their photo on social networks, tagging Adorable Belluno and using the hashtag #bellunoonice, and at the end of the carnival the most voted shot will be awarded”.

“Considering the difficulties of the moment and the resources available, we were able to organize moments of celebration in compliance with current regulations,” continues d’Emilia. «We thank the managers of the ice rink for their availability who, after giving new possibilities to the schools, allow us to celebrate this carnival in safety; although the situation is anything but simple, it seemed necessary, especially for the youngest, to organize these moments of celebration and lightness ».
