Central Construction Enterprises in Guangzhou Join Forces with Local Communities to Plant Trees and Protect Greenery
As the 46th Arbor Day approaches, central construction enterprises based in Guangzhou have teamed up with local jurisdictions to conduct voluntary tree planting activities in an effort to protect the green and beautiful environment of Guangdong.
On March 12, the General Contracting Branch of China Construction Fourth Engineering Bureau collaborated with the Youth League Working Committee of Shibi Street in Panyu District to organize a tree planting event next to the Dongxin Expressway exit of Guangzhou South Railway Station. Volunteers planted over 40 bald cypress trees on site, emphasizing the importance of integrity by hanging integrity cards on the saplings planted.
“This is my first time participating in a tree planting activity, and it gives me a sense of accomplishment to plant a tree with my own hands,” said volunteer Bao Qinghuan. The event aimed to encourage more young people to engage in greening activities and contribute to the ecological construction of Green Beauty Guangdong.
In addition to the tree planting activities, central construction enterprises have also been actively involved in various green initiatives across different projects. The Guangzhou Branch of South China Construction Company participated in a parent-child forest tree planting activity in Zengcheng District, while the Sino-Singapore Knowledge City Smart Tower Project in Huangpu District planted a youth forest along with local youth organizations.
Furthermore, China Railway Urban Construction No. 2 Company joined forces with the Construction Office of Dongyong Town in Nansha District to launch a tree planting volunteer service activity for “Jointly Building a Green and Beautiful Greater Bay Area”. The company has been committed to implementing green construction concepts and enhancing the environmental quality of projects in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Local enterprises like China Construction Third Engineering Group Co., Ltd have also been actively participating in afforestation volunteer service activities in collaboration with local youth organizations. The volunteer service team of the First Company of China Construction Third Engineering Group Co., Ltd. worked with the Guangzhou Huangpu District Youth League Committee and Youth Volunteer Association to carry out tree planting activities, with volunteers expressing their excitement for decorating the city with greenery.
The Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau reported that the province has seen a surge in tree planting activities, with over 5.2 million seedlings planted so far this year. The collective efforts of central construction enterprises, local jurisdictions, and volunteers reflect a shared commitment to protecting the environment and creating a green and beautiful Guangdong.
