“Erhai Forum” is guided by the Information Office of the State Council of China and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, co-sponsored by the China Foreign Languages Bureau, the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, and the China Public Relations Association. Organized by the Exchange Center, the Information Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, and the People’s Government of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture; Serbia, Sudan, Samoa’s embassies in China, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam’s Consulate General in Kunming and other officials attended the main venue of COP15 Diplomatic supporting activities.

Du Zhanyuan, director of the China Foreign Languages Bureau, said that in recent years, the China Foreign Languages Bureau has focused on cooperation and exchanges in ecological civilization and has hosted a live seminar on carbon neutrality comprehensive global action. The Erhai Forum is a joint effort by the China Foreign Languages Administration and other parties to promote Xi Jinping’s thoughts on ecological civilization and promote the construction of an international exchange platform for a community of humans and natural life, so as to strengthen knowledge sharing and continue to promote people’s high attention to the earth’s ecology. It is reported that starting from this year, the “Erhai Forum” will be held every year. The Forum Secretariat is permanently located in the China Foreign Languages Bureau, with offices in Kunming and Dali.
Yang Guozong, secretary of the Dali Prefecture Party Committee, said that in recent years, Dali Prefecture has fought three major defense battles: blue sky, clear water, and pure land. In the past five years, a total of 33 billion yuan has been invested in the protection and treatment of Erhai Lake, and the quality of Erhai Lake has remained at a good level. The evaluation result of Erhai Lake quality announced by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in 2020 is “excellent”; January-August 2021, comprehensive evaluation of the water quality of Erhai Lake National Control Section During the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, the water quality of the entire Erhai Lake reached Class II for 32 months, and no large-scale cyanobacteria bloom occurred. The protection of Erhai Lake has shifted from the rescue treatment stage to the protective treatment and ecological restoration stage. Tourism development has enabled the coordinated advancement of ecological civilization construction, poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and the masses have eaten “green rice”; the ecological “value” of Dali has become economic “output value”. At present, the agricultural output value of the whole prefecture has exceeded 60 billion yuan. Today’s Dali is not only a place name, but also a way of life that people yearn for.
