it is not for nothing that they say that Google knows everything. In its 25 years of existence, it has become a tool through which people around the world seek answers to their questions. It’s a quick and easy way to get information that we all resort to. Google Trends provides search statistics where everyone can see what people are typing into their search. He divided last year’s most searched keywords into six categories – events, Slovaks and Slovaks, how?, sad departures, meaning and foreign personalities.

Slovaks entered the most significant events of the past year, such as the elections and the referendum, into the search. We were interested in how to vote, but also the results of the elections and the referendum.
We also wanted to know more about the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip, the military conflict there has earned attention not only here, but throughout the world. However, we were more interested in what was happening in our country. The ranking of the most popular events is closed by the earthquake that hit eastern Slovakia and the Rammstein concert in Trenčín. With the last mentioned, people were not only interested in basic information about the performance of the German metal band, but also its singer Till Lindemann, who was accused of sexual harassment. We asked ourselves fundamental questions, but also more banal ones. Also, how long the corn is cooked.

People who have left us have traditionally received a lot of attention, especially if their contribution was significant and they left a significant mark. It seems that the death of the actor and musician Daniel Heriban affected most Slovaks.
