Thousands of Cuban families left devastated after Humanitarian Parole denials

MIAMI, Florida – Cuban families were left heartbroken this week after receiving news that their requests for Humanitarian Parole had been denied.

Among those affected is Cyntia Ferrá, who had been eagerly waiting to reunite with her husband in the United States. “This was our only hope,” she tearfully explained. “My sponsor informed me of the denial, and it was devastating news for my children and I.”

It is reported that thousands of Cuban applicants faced similar rejections on Tuesday, with a record number of 3,482 denials recorded by the Inmigreat Case Tracker application. Co-founder Ángel Baullosa expressed shock at the large number of denials, speculating that it could be due to a system error or new automation measures.

With little recourse for those denied, immigration attorney Avelino González suggests carefully reviewing and potentially reapplying for Humanitarian Parole. However, the discretionary nature of the process leaves many feeling hopeless.

One such case is Adianez, whose daughter suffers from a serious medical condition and was seeking treatment in the United States. Although Adianez was approved for Parole, her husband and daughter’s applications were denied, leaving the family in a desperate situation.

As the Department of Homeland Security remains silent on the matter, Cuban families like Ferrá and Adianez are left grappling with uncertainty and sorrow. The Humanitarian Parole program has been a lifeline for many seeking safety and opportunity in the United States, and the recent denials have shattered their hopes for a brighter future.
