CONEGLIANO. White didn’t make it. The 11-month-old albino roe deer rescued on Sunday 3 April 2022 in the hills of Collalbrigo died during the night. The baby was found in hypothermia, with a body temperature of only 35 degrees, when it normally should have been about 40. The Cras volunteers, thanks also to reports from Giuseppe Zoppè of “fototrappolaggio Treviso ”, they had identified him crouched in a stream, near the Collalbrigo cemetery.
Immediately rescued, he was transported to the Treviso Wild Animal Recovery Center, in the area Storga, and it had been heated and fed. At a first visit he had appeared very tired and had immediately begun a therapy to counter the probable infection that had struck him.

During the night the course of the animal worsened and the death occurred at around 4 on Monday morning.
Bianco was the son of Bianchinaanother albino somersault that has been wandering around the hills of Conegliano for some time.
“What happened is a great pain, we volunteers did our best to save him”, he comments Iris Moneta Cras referent. “We will now investigate to understand exactly the cause of death. He seemed to have recovered yesterday, we monitored him every hour. Tonight around 2 he started to feel bad », Moneta continues,« We called the vet, infusions were made. We have done the impossible. Analyzes will now have to be carried out by the Institute zooprophylactic to understand if it is a pathology, something genetic or to understand what may have happened ».
In December he had already been hospitalized for possible intoxication or poisoning.
