Teams as drivers of their products

Many product teams are overloaded – and yet the value of their work sometimes falls short of stakeholders’ hopes and expectations. Why is that? Agility is intended to help ensure that first-class products are created and at the same time that teams do not have to constantly go beyond their actual load and capacity limits.

Mathias Böhmer, a product coach and business psychologist, attributes the problem to two factors: On the one hand, there is a strong fixation on feature requests in many teams, and on the other hand, there is a lack of autonomy – and this mixed situation leads to the Product teams become drivers of their own products! But there is a way out of the dilemma.
