Ulss 2 investigation into the last 722 Covid cases in July. Back home, the four Treviso boys found positive in Malta

TREVISO. The vaccine protects against severe forms of the disease, but also against infection. The numbers of Ulss 2 confirm this. The last 722 cases of Covid in the province of Treviso, dating back to the period 18-24 July, were analyzed.

Of these, 80% had no vaccine dose, 18% had taken the first dose but not yet the booster, and only 2% had completed the vaccination cycle, even if – the health company says – not the fifteen days considered the safety threshold had still elapsed.

The vaccine therefore confirms itself as a barrier also against infection, as well as the greater incidence of new cases among young people under thirty, not surprisingly the least covered by prophylaxis. The share of under 30 among the new infected is 80%, according to what was communicated by the director general of the Ulss 2 Francesco Benazzi, thus increasing compared to 70% in the previous survey.

The more contagious Delta variant, as expected, has also become largely dominant in the province of Treviso. Finally, the four Treviso boys who had been found positive in Malta returned home and remained stranded on the island for a long time.

They are still positive, but they are fine. This is why they will be able to continue the quarantine at home, waiting to become negativized and finally return to normal.
