UDINE. Massimiliano Fedriga appeals, once again, to mass vaccination. Because a new lockdown, he clarifies, “we can’t afford it.” But it also conveys the conviction that the Green pass road is, for some activities, “the way to continue to remain open”. President, what is, among the many, the aspect that most convinces you of the synthesis between State and Regions?
«The transport to 80% of the places available allows us to take all the children to school in a single shift. As far as we are concerned, it is a priority ».
Will the system be able to avoid the delays of a year ago in preparing for the return to class?
«We started the meetings with the ministries of education and transport in June. Good support comes from state and regional funding. Where the need arises, we have allowed spaces outside the institutions to be exploited. The government is also looking at another measure of ours: anti-Covid ventilation systems on buses and couriers. More useful tools than other choices made in the past ».
It is the first day with the compulsory Green pass in indoor restaurants, gyms, festivals. What do you expect from supervisors and controllers?
«The first thing I expect is an even higher participation in the vaccination campaign. After that I think it is not a little complicated that bartenders, restaurateurs, gym managers turn into controllers. I have mentioned this to the government several times, but, at the moment, the problem has not been addressed. I do not hide my concern: the risk is that situations of tension will arise ».
Tourism is dealing with cancellations. Is it the price to pay?
«Tourism must hope not to have to deal with the fear of the pandemic more than with the Green pass. The real problem would in fact be a surge in infections and a greater occupation of hospital beds. We are faced with measures of attention, not draconian, useful to protect the economy too ».
Matteo Salvini pressed to limit the use of the Green pass. Is there a Salvini League and a Fedriga-Giorgetti League?
«Salvini spoke clearly in favor of the vaccination campaign. He is the secretary, and the League is unique. There are no other reconstructions ».
Sport is an important factor of normality. Will we return to the Rocco and Friuli, as well as to the palaces?
«The step forward, already in this decree, is the 50% capacity and the checkerboard layout. The demands of the world of sport have been met ».
Are you comfortable with ensuring that, thanks to vaccination, there will no longer be a lockdown?
“We can’t afford it. The comfort comes from the data provided by the Higher Institute of Health on the effectiveness of vaccines. Starting from the reduction of the risk of severe forms of the disease ».
Participation in the campaign between the ages of 50 and 70 in Fvg is lower than the national one. Disappointed?
“What is needed is to keep telling the truth. The anti Covid vaccines, administered as never before to the entire world population, are the safest ever ».
You and the commissioner Riccardi have had harsh words about no vax between doctors and nurses. Was the De Monte case an obstacle to the effectiveness of your communication?
«I refer to the appeal to health professionals to get vaccinated, but I avoid talking about individuals. And I consider the political debate that has developed over the affair vulgar ”.
The visit of the Mise owner Giancarlo Giorgetti served to point out the strategic objectives for the Fvg economy. What is needed for the NRR to mark an epochal turning point for the territory?
«Projects adhering to the prospects of the Fvg. Even as president of the Conference of the Regions, I urge you not to think that everyone has everything. One has to specialize. The work, well underway in the region, is to identify the missions. At the country level, on the other hand, a structural simplification of the system is needed. The PNRR cannot be just a parenthesis ».
You have approved a very substantial summer maneuver. What satisfies you the most?
“In addition to the funds for the school, the 40 million for the first home, the 25 million on health investments, the responses to local authorities. It was not a settlement of the Region, but of the territory ».
The opposition complained of the alleged favoritism to “friendly” mayors. Excludes that there have been any?
«We made the consultations exactly like a year ago. Then we made some choices. And the choices inevitably displease someone. The opposition also complained when the junta amendments had the same content as some of their proposals. We intervened with interventions of regional importance, without falling into the temptation of small post offices ».
An Ipsos survey promotes his work. Is this a further boost to re-nomination?
“Regardless of the polls, I’d like to reapply. The real votes, however, will be those of the voting booth. In the meantime, the polls are an injection of confidence to continue a job that remains difficult. We may have made mistakes, but the commitment has been indisputable and always aimed at the citizens ».
The autumn municipal will also be a judgment on the junta?
«You must have total respect for local administrations. I think the voters can confirm the mayors of Trieste Dipiazza and Pordenone Ciriani, who have worked very well. We will certainly not appropriate their desirable reconfirmations ».
