UDINE. On Sunday 19 December in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 388 new infections were detected on 4,570 molecular swabs, with a positive percentage of 8.49%. In addition, 10,828 rapid antigenic tests have been carried out, from which 99 cases (0.91%) were detected for a total of 487 new cases.

Also on Sunday 19 December the first most affected area of ​​contagion is that of the under 19s, which touches 26.90% of the new positives, followed by the 40-49 age group with 18.68% and the 50-59 year old with the 17.04%.

During the day, the deaths of 7 people were recorded: specifically, it is a 94-year-old man from Trieste (who died in hospital), an 84-year-old man from Pordenone (who died in a retirement home), an 82-year-old woman from Trieste (who died in hospital), an 82-year-old man from Montereale Valcellina (who died in hospital), an 81-year-old man from Pravisdomini (who died in hospital), a 78-year-old man from Pordenone (who died in hospital) and a man aged 77 from Trieste (died in hospital).

There are 34 people admitted to intensive care, while patients in other departments drop to 281.

This was announced by the deputy governor of the Region with responsibility for Health Riccardo Riccardi. The total deaths amounted to 4,125, with the following territorial subdivision: 972 in Trieste, 2,064 in Udine, 753 in Pordenone and 336 in Gorizia. The totally healed are 131,133, the clinically healed 327, while those in isolation are 7,931.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Friuli Venezia Giulia, a total of 143,831 people have been positive with the following territorial division: 34,783 in Trieste, 60,818 in Udine, 28,610 in Pordenone, 17,628 in Gorizia and 1,992 from outside the region.

The total of positive cases was reduced by 2 units following an antigen test not confirmed by a subsequent molecular swab (in Pordenone) and a positive test removed after review of the case (in Udine).

As far as the regional health system is concerned, the positivity of a nurse from the Central Friuli University Health Authority was found; of a nurse, an administrator and a rehabilitation therapist from the Giuliano Isontina University Healthcare Company.

Three cases were detected among the guests of the residences for the elderly in the region (Pordenone, Trieste), while there were no positive ones among the operators within the structures themselves.
