Covid, the bulletin of May 18: in Sicily 411 new cases and 22 deaths

The data released by the Ministry of Health on the progress of the health emergency in our region

There were 411 new cases of covid registered in Sicily in the last 24 hours (yesterday there were 299). The deaths were instead 22 (yesterday there were 4) and so the total number of victims of the virus rises to 5,689. This is what can be seen from the covid bulletin of 18 May of the Ministry of Health.

Overall, there are 894 people in the hospital (yesterday they were 920), of whom 108 were in intensive care (yesterday they were 112) and in the medical area 786 (yesterday 808).

There were 792 healed and therefore at the moment in Sicily there are 16,293 positives (-403) of which 15,399 in home isolation.
The swabs processed were 24,390 and therefore the positivity rate stood at 1.68% (yesterday 2.39%.).

THE PROVINCE. This time Catania cuts everyone off: here over a third of the new cases in Scilia. Here is the detail:

IN ITALY. There are 4,452 coronavirus test positives in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the
Ministry of Health. Yesterday there were 3,455. Instead, 201 victims in one day, 140 yesterday. The tests carried out were
262,864, with a positivity rate of 1.7%. There are 1,689 patients in intensive care therapy (-65 compared to yesterday)
while those hospitalized with symptoms are 11,539 (-485). The currently positive in Italy are 315,308 (-7,583), while i
3,727,220 (+11,831) were discharged or recovered. The victims are instead 124,497.
