Daniel Noboa He assured that a month before the political campaign for the 2025 elections begins, he will take charge of his position.
Noboa, who has already confirmed that he is up for re-election in 2025, assured that he will entrust the position to vice president.
The president held an interview with the international media Cnn in Spanish.
There he addressed several issues related to security, the increase in VAT, the failure to send Russian military weapons classified as “scrap” to the United States, among others.
He also highlighted what his participation will be like in the presidential elections that will take place in 2025.
The television journalist asked the first president if he still wanted to seek the presidency in a new period, to which Noboa responded:
“I am not looking for the Presidency, what I am looking for is to improve the lives of Ecuadorians, and for that I believe there should be some continuity,” he said.
Likewise, he added: “it is not something that I am looking for, I do not want to break any democratic scheme. I’m happy I have my private life. “Right now I am just serving the people.”
Daniel Noboa specified that at this moment he is culminating what was the presidential period of the former president of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso.
According to Noboa, the period he planned to begin his political life was going to be in 2025.
Regarding the Vice President of the Republic, Verónica Abad, she noted that she is in Israel and that she will continue working in that country.
“I will continue to be Republic President as long as I am legally allowed. Then, I have to hand over the Presidency to a vice president, I will do it there when the campaign starts; a month before the elections,” said the president.
