In the middle section, the Sauerlanders came back quickly. In the 29th minute, Balázs Sebök was right and scored to make it 2-2. Shortly before the end of the third, Mannheim’s Matthias Plachta restored the old gap (39th). Markus Hännikäinen (51st) ultimately scored the final score.
The Roosters continue on Sunday (4.30 p.m.) with the basement duel against Düsseldorfer EG.
Sharks lose to Munich in overtime
The Kölner Haie also suffered a defeat on Friday evening, but only lost to the reigning champions EHC Munich 2:3 (0:1, 1:0, 1:1, 0:1) in extra time. Veit Oswald scored the decisive goal in the second minute of overtime.
