China Makes Major Advances in Space Exploration and Offshore Platform Construction
Recently, China has demonstrated its economic vitality in various fields, showcasing its high-quality development and gathering strength. On March 25, the Queqiao-2 relay satellite successfully entered orbit around the moon, marking a significant milestone for China’s space exploration efforts.
The National Space Administration announced that the Queqiao-2 relay satellite completed near-month braking and entered a 24-hour large elliptical mission orbit around the moon. This satellite will conduct communication tests with other lunar missions as planned, further advancing China’s presence in space exploration.
In addition to space exploration, China also made a breakthrough in the construction of deep-water ultra-large offshore platforms. The Haiji No. 2 platform, standing at 338.5 meters tall and weighing nearly 37,000 tons, set records in Asia for its size and depth of operation. This achievement highlights China’s engineering capabilities and its ability to push boundaries in offshore platform construction.
Furthermore, the economic performance of small and medium-sized enterprises in China continued to improve in the first two months of this year. Production and sales numbers showed positive trends, with an increase in electricity consumption and export indexes. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises by focusing on building specialized industrial clusters and promoting digital empowerment initiatives.
In the healthcare sector, the National Medical Insurance Administration reported that basic medical insurance coverage in China has stabilized at over 95%. The quality of insurance has also improved over the years, with an increase in individual payment standards and a wider range of reimbursable medicines and services.
Lastly, the Tarim Oilfield added over 1 billion cubic meters of new natural gas production capacity in ultra-deep layers, contributing to the West-East Gas Pipeline network. With the completion of new ultra-deep gas wells, China continues to strengthen its energy infrastructure and provide a reliable gas source for the region.
