Where did you last come across the beautiful word “meander”? I discovered it in the book “An emerald-green rivers” by Werner Freudenberger, who, with a lot of charm and knowledge, describes, among other things, how the Livenza river “meanders” through the northern Italian town of Polcenigo. In the meantime, I’ve gotten my own picture of it and swear: You can’t put it better than my esteemed author colleague and great role model. And if you happen to pass a bookstore while “meandering”: Werner Freudenberger has revised and updated his “Am Tagliamento”. There is no better guide to discovering this multifaceted river between mountains and sea. Meandering at its finest!
