The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) expressed, Monday January 22, its indignation at the racist insults of Moroccan players against the captain of the Leopards, Chancel Mbemba.
The governing body of Congolese football expressed this in its press release, a copy of which reached Radio Okapi.
In this document, FECOFA stigmatized what it described as the anti-sporting attitude of Moroccans and threatened to refer the matter to the disciplinary authorities of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
« This is so that such error is no longer repeated during football matches on the continent. », according to FECOFA.
This football body thus invited the members of the Leopards delegation to uphold their cardinal virtues of sportsmanship, fair play and respect for human values.
She also invited the Congolese delegation in the final phase of CAN 2023 to surpass oneself and tolerance.
It all started at the end of the DRC-Morocco match, counting for the 2nd day of group F, where Chancel Mbemba was the subject of discourteous remarks from the Moroccan players.
This meeting ended with a score of one goal each at the Laurent Mpoku stadium.
