Earthquake in the Salerno area, magnitude 3.8 – News

An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 was recorded in Ricigliano, in the province of Salerno.

The tremor, at a depth of 8km, was felt at 10.23am by the population of both the provinces of Salerno and Basilicata given that the two areas are very close. At the moment no damage has been reported.

Shock 2.5 in Garfagnana, epicenter in Fosciandora

An earthquake of magnitude 2.5 occurred this morning in Alta Garfagnana, with an epicenter 7 km north east of the town of Fosciandora (Lucca).
The shock was recorded at 7.47 am at a depth of 10 km by the INGV instruments. The epicenter corresponds to the ridge of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, in Monte Romecchio (1700 meters above sea level).
In Tuscany there was another shock, but with a magnitude of 1.1, with an epicenter located 4 km north east of Certaldo, in the province of Florence, on Saturday evening at 11.42pm.
