The World Bank, through a report made public on Tuesday, announces the drop in its growth forecasts for the year 2023 for sub-Saharan Africa.
Initially at 3.6%, the institution’s forecast is now 3.2%. other factors of this decline.
The World Bank also points out that more than half of the drop in its forecasts is due to a sharp slowdown in growth in South Africa. Indeed, the growth of the most industrialized country of the continent should be limited to 0.3% this year against a previous forecast of 1.1%.
On the other hand, the World Bank maintains its growth forecast for sub-Saharan Africa for the year 2024 which is 3.9%.
