Eimsbüttel: Police investigate after shots fired at café | > – News

On the night of Monday to Tuesday there was a major operation by the Hamburg police in Eimsbüttel. Shots were fired there shortly before midnight.

Witnesses heard the shots at the intersection of Shoulderblade and Eimsbütteler Strasse and called the emergency number.

Three bullet holes in the window of the “Amare” café

The window of the “Amare” café is damaged by several bullet holes.

The officers came with more than 20 patrol cars and sniffer dogs. A little later they discovered three bullet holes in a window of the “Amare” café and several bullet casings in front of them. The restaurant was already closed at the time of the incident, so no one was injured.

An immediate search yielded nothing. The police assume that the shots were fired from a moving dark car that sped away along the shower path – it is still unclear by whom. The criminal police are now investigating.

Police spokeswoman: “It can go in any direction”

Police spokeswoman Sandra Levgrün told the NDR Hamburg Journal on Tuesday: “If you don’t yet have any clues about where to go, you really have to think very broadly.” She speculated that it could be about a relationship dispute, protection money or tenant-landlord disputes. “It can really go in all directions. And that’s exactly the task of the State Criminal Police Office now, to shed light on this.”

Recently similar case nearby

Only at the beginning of April there was a similar case in the neighborhood, almost two kilometers away on Spengelweg – shots were also fired at the house facade and window, the perpetrator was on the run. Nobody was injured there either.
