Eom In-sook, a former insurance planner, committed brutal crimes against a total of 10 people between 2000 and 2005. Of these, three died. Ms. Eom took a psychopathy test at the time and scored 40 out of 40 on her diagnostic criteria. She is said to have scored 28 out of 40 on a psychopath test, even for serial killer Yoo Young-cheol.
The first target of the crime was her husband. He took out three insurance policies for his husband, put him to sleep with sleeping pills, and stabbed his eyes, blinding him.
A few months later, she inflicted four weeks of burns on her husband’s face and brandished a weapon. In the end, her husband died from bleeding from multiple stab wounds, and Eom In-sook pocketed her husband’s large amount of insurance money.
Eom In-sook committed a similar crime and killed her second husband, who she remarried. When Lady Eom’s first husband and her remarried husband died mysteriously, she confounded the police with cruel methods, including murdering all of her family members who suspected this.
It is known that he used all the insurance money he earned from these crimes for entertainment.
Accordingly, the court sentenced Eom In-sook to life imprisonment in 2006. She Eom In-sook is currently serving her sentence at Cheongju Women’s Prison.
