A new reality of cultural entrepreneurship is born in Sardinia. This is Esi (Independent Sardinian Publishers), a voluntary non-profit association which “pursues its aims according to principles of autonomy and independence and, as an expression of Sardinian publishing houses, aims to represent, assist and protect the moral and materials of the members, promote all initiatives that can contribute to the knowledge and diffusion of the editorial product in all its forms, encourage the study and treatment of problems that directly or indirectly concern the development of publishing in Sardinia”.

In particular, the Esi has as its primary aim the aggregation of Sardinian publishers to constitute a qualified point of reference for Sardinian publishing at a regional, national and international level and to represent the interests of the members in relations with bodies and institutions (both public and private individuals) as well as with trade associations.

The board of directors is made up of Claudio Moica – president (Pettirosso editore); Giorgio Ariu – honorary president (GIA publisher); Neria De Giovanni – vice president (Nemapress editions); Massimo Pulisci – treasurer (Editrice S’alvure).
