“I’m still considering whether to run in the European elections. And those who say they saw me at the League headquarters in Bellerio are wrong.” Thus General Roberto Vannacci speaking to journalists in Lamezia Terme, where he presented his book “The world upside down”.
“Once I have resolved my reservations about the candidacy – added Vannacci – I will also see how to communicate it. Last Friday, the day in which someone reported my presence in Bellerio, I was actually in Iesi to present my book.
So I definitely couldn’t be in Milan. I would like to meet these people who say they saw me in via Bellerio and make them point out the mistake they have certainly made.”
Answering journalists’ questions, Vannacci then confirmed that he “had contact with Minister Salvini.
However, occasional contacts – he added – just as I have had with other political exponents. Running in the European elections would be a challenge for me. And I like challenges. Just as I like impossible missions, activities that still involve a certain degree of risk. And the candidacy is precisely a challenge that I am evaluating.”
