In a recent exclusive interview with a reporter from Xinhua News Agency, Fu Cade (foreign name: Fabrice Fourcade), Vice President of EDF Group and President of China, emphasized the great potential for cooperation between France and China in the fields of nuclear energy and other low-carbon energy. EDF will continue to promote sustainable development through mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between the two countries.

One of the significant achievements in the collaboration between the two countries is the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, the first large-scale commercial nuclear power plant in mainland China. Fu Kaide highlighted EDF’s participation in the design, construction, and operation of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant, which has laid a solid foundation for trust and cooperation between France and China.

Fuchide pointed out that EDF has been actively involved in China for decades, taking the lead in various projects and persistently pursuing long-term cooperation for mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. The company has also established research and development partnerships with Chinese entities in digital technology and other fields, leading to significant advancements in the Chinese nuclear industry.

In addition to nuclear energy, EDF is also collaborating with Chinese partners in renewable energy sources, such as the successful completion of China’s first Sino-foreign joint venture offshore wind power project in Dongtai, Jiangsu. Fu Kaide emphasized the importance of developing low-carbon energy globally and enhancing cooperation with China in various energy sectors, including hydrogen energy and energy innovation.
