A family that was returning from Santa Marta to Bucaramanga, after one of its members participated in a motorcycle race, suffered an accident when they were traveling through the department of Cesar, near the municipality of Bosconia.

The vehicle with plates QHE-492, driven by Sergio Vega Pardo, overturned near the Loma Linda bridge.

Vega Pardo was unharmed, while a woman and a three-month-old baby died.

The deceased was identified as Marly Carolina Silva Monsalve, 41, who died after being ejected from the car.

The three-month-old baby was alive at the time, but due to the severity of his injuries he died in a hospital.

In addition to them, an 11-year-old boy, who suffered severe head trauma, and Liliana Carolina Rangel Morales, the baby’s mother, were injured, and who was injured with left kidney trauma and a fractured left lower extremity. Both remain at the Sinais Vitais Clinic in Bosconia.

It was also established that these people are from Bucaramanga where they returned after participating in a motorcycle competition in Santa Marta. According to witnesses to the accident, the car was carrying a trailer and apparently it detached causing the accident, coupled with possible excess speed.
