Two Canadair and four helicopters operate in the Longaronese area, while outbreaks are now under control in Fortogna
VAL DI ZOLDO. Another day of suffering for the communities in check of the fires that are devouring the province. All this despite the great use of aircraft for extinguishing. At least two Canadair and four helicopters used by the regional civil defense and firefighters, plus ground vehicles.
After a day of hard work, in the afternoon the situation worsened again in the Soffranco and Igne area, while there were no more outbreaks in that of Fortogna, considered to be improving. “Canadair, Erickson and regional helicopters continue to operate. On the ground, the teams of forest firefighting volunteers. All coordinated by the directors of the extinguishing operations of the Region as per law 353/2000 which attributes the competence to the regions ”, explains the regional councilor Gianpaolo Bottacin.
The environmental data by Arpav and Bim are also under observation for what concerns, respectively, air and water. Important is the presence of PM10 in the air on the highlight of Thursday, which diminished on March 25th.
The situation of the aqueducts is difficult: in the houses served by the Rio dei Frari aqueduct which insists on the fire zone of Fortogna, water that smells of smoke comes out of the taps as reported by some inhabitants. Analyzes are underway to verify the situation.
