Fu Zhenghua, 67, was a former deputy minister of the Ministry of Public Security and China’s justice minister from 2018 to 2020 before stepping back to become deputy director of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference’s Social and Legal Affairs Committee.

On October 2 last year, the website of the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China announced that Fu Zhenghua was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and was subject to disciplinary review and supervision investigation.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and China’s National Supervisory Commission announced on Thursday (March 31) that after investigation, Fu Zhenghua “seriously violated discipline and law”, “completely abandoned ideals and beliefs, never truly loyal to the party and the people, and completely lost the principle of party spirit.” , and explicitly accused him of “participating in Sun Lijun’s political gang, forming gangs, forming parties for personal gain”, “arbitrarily discussing the major policies of the Party Central Committee”, “obeying and carrying guns in violation of regulations”, “long-term illegal occupation of multiple houses, office space and Multiple buses for personal and family enjoyment.”
