The Police managed to capture four alleged members of the ‘Jorge Suárez Briceño’ bloc of the FARC dissidents, accused of being extortionists from that substructure of the Central General Staff.
The detainees, three men and a woman, were intercepted in the Belén neighborhood, in the municipality of Granada.
In that operation, Edwin Alexander García Quitián, known as alias “Jerry”, was captured in flagrante delicto, who was intercepted while transporting a fragmentation grenade.
Subsequently, in a hotel located in the Centro neighborhood, the arrest of two men and a woman was carried out, who were found with FARC propaganda, and a notebook with information on merchants and a possible improvised explosive device.
These four people are linked to the investigation for their alleged participation in the attacks that occurred in recent weeks in the municipalities of Villavicencio and Granada, where commercial premises have been attacked, apparently, for extortion.
During the procedure, an IM26 fragmentation grenade, four improvised explosive devices, 13 extortion pamphlets and a notebook containing the telephone directory of merchants were seized.
These individuals could be implicated as alleged perpetrators of the launching of a fragmentation grenade in April against the commercial establishments La Ley del Monte and Distribuciones Monterrey, in the municipality of Granada.
