Four people allegedly dedicated to extortion in Arauca are in prison – news

Given the forcefulness of the evidentiary material presented by a specialized prosecutor from Arauca, a judge sent four alleged members of the Martín Villa Front of the FARC dissidents to prison who were extorting money in Arauca.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the defendants would be in charge of demanding money from merchants and transporters in Puerto Rondón and Arauca so as not to attack their businesses, between March 2023 and January of this year.

Likewise, they would be acting under the orders of leaders of that criminal group who are being held in a prison.

The arrests by court order were carried out in Bogotá, Montería (Córdoba), Bello (Antioquia) and Tame (Arauca), in a joint effort between CTI investigators and uniformed members of the National Police and Army, this March 19.

For these events, the Prosecutor’s Office charged Luz Yarledis Sevilla, alias Luz; Juan Carlos Moreno Narváez, alias Juancho or Churrasco; Oscar Eduardo Ángel Orejarena; alias Black Ear; and Oscar Luis Sevilla Petro for the crimes of extortion and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The defendants did not accept the charges and were sent to prison.
