This year too, the Automobile Club Chieti set up an outdoor educational circuit in the car park of the “G. Mezzanotte” secondary school in Chieti, in which the pupils of four first classes were able to tackle, riding their bicycles, some real urban critical situations.
Thus Roberto D’Antuono, director of the ACI-Automobile Club Provinciale of Chieti, wanted to conclude the cycle of road education lessons, previously held in the various classes.
“This is a very useful initiative: in today’s society, which appears to us to be increasingly distracted and in some ways in decline” said the head teacher of the Comprehensive Institute n. 4 of Chieti, Emilia Galante, together with professor Elena Elisabetta Serra, coordinator of the project for the school.
“Faced with the frightening numbers of road accidents in Italy” stated the president of the Provincial Automobile Club, Mario AloĆØ “as ACI we are increasingly convinced that road safety education should be taught in schools from an early age, long before the boys and girls reach the years necessary to obtain a driving license, continuously stimulating in them an ever greater awareness of the rules and attention to be paid when they are on the road, by any means”.
