The entrepreneur Cerato offers the Municipality the spaces of Mr. Charlie and Ca ‘Margherita. Administration pressing on the Region: we will guarantee security and reservations
LIGNANO. The place considered, by definition, dangerous for gatherings and, therefore, for the spread of the virus, could become, on the contrary, a useful place to eradicate Covid-19. Adriano Cerato, at the head of the team that manages two of the main discos in Lignano, makes Mr. Charlie and Ca ‘Margherita available to the Municipality to fight the pandemic.
The two nightclubs could thus become the new vaccination centers of the seaside resort to immunize seasonal workers and tourists who need the second injection.
«In this situation everyone has to do their part and we have very large spaces, both internal and external – affirms Cerato -. For the moment, no date has been set for the reopening of the discos and, in any case, we should start again gradually: if we could restart the activity already this summer, we could guarantee the permanent use of the internal areas of one or both discos for vaccinations, while organizing evenings outside ».
And Cerato, who in recent months has not been spared from the virus from which he has been infected for over forty days, adds: «Never before is it important to continue to resist, maybe a few more weeks, to then start all together again in a great way. I would not like to fall back into the same mistakes made last year, mistakes we paid for in the past months ».
The idea was proposed, in recent days, to the municipal administration. The councilor for health, Marina Bidin, and the councilor for tourism, Massimo Brini, welcomed Cerato to the town hall, to which was also added the vice president of Confcommercio Udine Alessandro Tollon, who said: “Confcommercio welcomes every initiative capable of securing the bathing season, we are ready to collaborate by supporting these proposals ».
“There are hundreds and hundreds of tourists who do not book or leave the reservation on standby because the second dose of the vaccine falls during the holiday period – says Bidin -. We should be able to ensure tourists, but also seasonal workers (most of whom come from outside the region), the possibility of getting vaccinated here in Lignano ».
And the commissioner Brini, concludes: «We thank Adriano Cerato and the other partners for the very welcome offer that we are very pleased to have received, especially given the difficulties that discos are experiencing. We will bring the proposal to the attention of the Region – underlines Brini – and we hope that at least this initiative will be accepted, given that last February we had already launched the idea of vaccinating tour operators and all seasonal workers in order to be a Covid-free tourist resort. , a request that was not accepted but which could have been an excellent driving force for the image of the city, as well as a guarantee of safety ».
This year more than ever, moreover, “reservations are also collected on the basis of the health services offered to tourists – adds Bidin – and therefore that the emergency room is still closed is unacceptable. We urge the Region and the Health Authority to activate the service as soon as possible ».
