Head-on collision between two cars, shortly after 6 o’clock yesterday morning, along the regional road 463, near Carpacco di Dignano. One person, a 66-year-old man, residing in the Municipality of San Daniele, was injured and was transported by medical personnel to the hospital in Udine. His conditions are serious but, according to what has been learned, he would not be in danger of life. The two cars, an Alfa Romeo 156 driven by the sixty-six year old from Sandanielese, and a Mini Cooper driven by a 44-year-old man living in San Daniele, were traveling along the 463 regional road when, for reasons still to be ascertained, they collide head-on. The impact was particularly violent. Immediate call for help from some passing motorists.

The driver of the Alfa Romeo 156, following the collision, was stuck inside the passenger compartment and to get him out it was necessary the intervention of the firefighters, who used the hydraulic calipers. The injured, after being stabilized, was transported by helicopter to the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine. Slightly injured the other driver.

The 118 health workers, the volunteer firefighters of San Daniele, rushed to the place promptly, who cleaned up the roadway, invaded by debris, and made the accident vehicles safe. For the findings, the carabinieri of the radio-mobile unit of Udine intervened together with colleagues from the San Daniele station.
