Ice bowling started at noon today curling with the game Haapsalu in a small draw, the tenth Scottish party in a row.

Traditionally, the Haapsalu city government and the British Embassy held the opening game, which Haapsalu won this year.

Before the game, the leader of the day asked the representatives of the teams: Haapsalu Mayor Urmas Sukles and British Ambassador Ross Allen to remember which team won last year and which has won more over the years. Neither man has kept track of the victories. “Friendship wins,” Allen said. Both teams received whiskey glasses made by Kai Koppel as a gift.

However, the friendly meetings did not end there. In addition to the British, the Scots also took measures against the Haapsalu city government. After two rounds, the two teams had each won one game, but the decisive third round was abandoned and settled for a draw.

This year, a record number of competitors took part in the main competition, which started after the first friendly match: 24 four-member teams had come out. Team G&T won the nearly three-hour competition, second place was won by Punas Pingviinid, third was Isamaaline Läänemaa, and fourth was Sadama 5.

As is typical of a Scottish party, Philip Graeme Lawson Barlow, who became the face of the party, played the bagpipes before the race, and later an allied soldier played the bagpipes to accompany the race.

Peep Aedviir, the organizer of the ice skating competition, said that this year the ice conditions are good, in some places the thickness of the ice is over 30 centimeters, and the ice that had melted in the last few days had frozen again by Saturday.

The Scottish party continues in the evening with a party in the Kaluri clubhouse.
