Guangxi Sugar Orange Harvest, High-Quality “Guipin” Fragrance Spreads to Southeast Asia
The sugar orange harvest season is in full swing in Guangxi, as the high-quality “Guipin” fragrance spreads to Southeast Asia. Tongfu Village, Tanluo Town, Xixiangtang District, Nanning City, Guangxi, is abuzz with the sight of clusters of ripe sugar oranges hanging from branches in orchards, filling the air with bursts of fruity fragrance. The entire process of picking, transporting, sorting, and loading is underway, painting a picturesque harvest scene.
As the only province in China that is adjacent to ASEAN on land and sea, Guangxi’s climate difference with ASEAN countries makes the two sides highly complementary in their demand for agricultural products. With the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) fully in force and the continuous improvement of the commercial circulation network, Guangxi has seized the opportunity of being “close to the water” and strengthened agricultural product trade cooperation with ASEAN countries. Consequently, a large number of high-quality “Guangxi products” have become popular in the ASEAN market.
Apart from citrus, Guangxi’s navel oranges, persimmons, grapes, and other fruits have also become popular in the fruit baskets of people in ASEAN. Currently, Guangxi is accelerating the construction of China-ASEAN fruit trading centers in Nanning, Chongzuo, and Qinzhou, and actively building a fruit import and export trade supply chain industrial chain system.
